LiSTNR Announces New Senior Executive Producer For Original Podcasts

SCA’S LiSTNR has announced the appointment of Nic McClure to the newly created role of Senior Executive Producer – LiSTNR Original Podcasts. In the role, McClure will develop and produce new original podcasts and oversee news-based podcasts such as Your Morning Agenda and The Briefing. In addition, she will play an important developmental role with onboarding new podcast producers and working with the current LiSTNR Original Podcast producer team.

McClure will report to Sam Cavanagh, LiSTNR’s Head of News and Entertainment Original Podcasts and Jennifer Goggin, LiSTNR’s Head of Specialty and Feature Podcasts.

McClure is an experienced, award-winning producer and industry specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the Australian radio industry. She began her radio career with SCA in 1996 and has since led number one rating shows and teams such as the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Kate, Tim and Marty, Merrick & Rosso and the Hot 30 Countdown with Ugly Phil.

ABC Radio Sydney calls time on the pips

Regular listeners will notice something missing from radio broadcasts, ABC Radio Sydney has turned off the pips, the series of beeps that played at the end of the hour, usually followed by the familiar sound of the news theme. The final pips were played on Thursday November 24. Once used by listeners to set their watches, the six short tones have been deemed unnecessary in the age of digital radio and smart phones.
