Celebrating Community Radio Excellence

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is excited to launch the 2021 CBAA Community Radio Awards—celebrating the sector’s innovation, perseverance, and its community champions. Across more than 30 diverse categories, community radio stations are invited to celebrate the people, programs and initiatives that make their stations excellent!

“The work undertaken by community broadcasters in the past twelve months has been particularly extraordinary. Whether it’s been increasing the amount of local information and news reaching audiences; sharing health messages in community languages; or providing comfort and connection through isolation—much of this has been done remotely!” Jon Bisset, CBAA CEO

Technologists and managers have steered their stations and teams to produce content remotely. Program makers have learnt new skills to set up at home. Local news teams have increased news production and volunteers have increased their time to ensure the best content has been broadcast to listeners.

It has been a year for innovation and resilience. Entries are open now until 15 August.
