Australians are listening to 23 minutes more commercial radio year on year, underpinned by a love of breakfast radio, 2.8 million people aged 10-24 listening,and commercial radio’s ability to be with people wherever they are, the latest GfK Radio Survey 5 has revealed.
Judy Shaw, Head of Communications, is leaving Commercial Radio Australia. She says: “I am announcing my departure from CRA and pleased to go out on a high following our 100 years of radio event in Parliament House and the launch of Radio360. After seven years as of Head of Comms, and a previous stint consulting for CRA many years ago, it is time for me to find a new challenge.”
Advertising revenue for metropolitan commercial radio stations increased 8.8% in the June 2022 quarter, totalling $190.855 million, up from $175.431 million recorded in the same quarter in 2021, according to data compiled by Milton Data and released by industry body Commercial Radio Australia.
Commercial radio performed strongly in another year impacted by COVID, with weekly audiences up by 1.3% to a record 11.2 million listeners in the five metropolitan capitals in 2021.
