New Wide Bay radio station, The Breeze 102.5 FM

A new radio station that plays the best hits from today and the last six decades has
started in Wide Bay. The Breeze 102.5 FM, part of the Rebel Radio Network owned by the Jowitt Family group of companies in Queensland, is a music-based station offering Wide Bay locals adult contemporary, easy listening music from the last six decades.

Managing Director Aaron Jowitt says the coverage area of Breeze 102.5 FM is considerable and takes in the cities of Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg along with regional towns of Childers and Gin Gin on the Bruce Highway.

“The Breeze 102.5 is the first and only commercial FM station that jointly services Maryborough, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay,” he says. “It means that our content is more localised, and specifically for Wide Bay.”

Network General Manager Cheryl Jowitt says she’s been amazed at the response to this family-orientated music format since bringing it to the Wide Bay and Fraser Coast market just over 2 months ago. “The response from listeners and advertisers has been amazing,” she says. “This area is becoming increasingly popular to not only people wanting a sea change from city life, but for retirees seeking warmer climates. The Breeze 102.5 FM fills a need for the music of that generation and we’re seeing the audience grow daily.”

The broad playlist of music on offer ranges from the seventies through to today, including the 60’s and 70’s on one of the station’s most popular music specials Jukebox Saturday Night. The station is spearheaded by Rob Doorey’s More Music Breakfast Show that features more music and less talk, and Murray Shoring who hosts Love Songs After Dark on Monday through Thursday nights taking requests at [email protected]

  1. Great music collection . My favourite station. Just one complaint ,the signal drops out for lengthy periods . I reside in Kalkie / East bundaberg. I do use an external fm antenna. Do you have any suggestions.

  3. Arrived in Maryborough 2 weeks ago and stumbled across Breeze – what a relief to find such a great radio station! I am a 72 year old single woman who just has to have music on all day and, wow, does Breeze deliver! Great music and no “shouting” at breakfast – doesn’t get any better. Only issue: please advise CURRENT Weather Temperature after the news. As a newcomer from down south, I am interested to know what the temp is outside. Please keep up the great music and thanks to all presenters. Stay well and be kind to yourself. Carol
