New General Manager for RIVER 1467 Mildura

RIVER1467 in Mildura has announced the appointment of a new General Manager, Joe Cavallo, who will commence with the Grant Broadcasters station in early May.

Joe has 6 years’ experience in radio sales in the Sunraysia area, with a previous history of working at Harvey Norman, including time as a Franchisee.

Regional General Manager VIC/SA for Grant Broadcasters, Peter Upton says “It’s great to have Joe joining our management team as he is an immensely popular and well-respected Mildura local.”

“I am extremely excited to join the Grant Broadcasters team. Having grown up in Mildura I know RIVER1467 has a great history and strong local following and I can’t wait to get started.” said Joe.

Tory Caputo will continue in his current GM role until the end of April, before moving to Grant Broadcasters’ Port Pirie office.

Tributes flow for Father Gerard Dowling

Melbourne radio station RSN 927 has announced: “It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Father Gerard Dowling. He’s been a cornerstone of broadcasting in Melbourne for 50 years and has been heard on racing radio all that time. Father Dowling started hosting the Family Counsellor program on 3UZ in 1973.” Dowling turned 91 in 2023.

Spencer Howson Departing 4BC

Spencer Howson, 4BC Brisbane weekend presenter, has announced he will be leaving the talk station at the end of this year. Spencer relaunched local weekends on 4BC at the start of 2021 and for the last 3 years and has been heard from 9am each Saturday and Sunday.
