Marcus Paul Axed From 2SM

Marcus Paul was informed on Friday February 4 by The Super Radio Network that his breakfast show Marcus In The Morning would no longer be aired on 2SM Sydney and the Network.

Marcus says: “While this is disappointing, and I am devastated to lose the position, I would like to thank the Network for the opportunity to fulfill my dream of hosting a prime time breakfast show in my home city. I also am humbled by the fact I was able to fill in for John Laws on numerous occasions. The most satisfying being during his extended leave before I took on breakfast full time, where I increased his share in Newcastle by 3.5% and moved his show into #2 in that market.”

He added: “Whilst I feel the axing of the program is unfair, I will accept it with just this one further comment. While I accept responsibility for a recent offensive segment, – even though it was approved by a part time producer – I am disappointed that unlike other broadcasters in the Network, I have not been supported, nor allowed on air to redeem the mistake.

  1. “The mistake” seems to be a recurring theme from previous positions…..
