In the latest GfK Radio 360 Survey (#5/2023), talk stations 2GB Sydney and 3AW Melbourne continue their reign at No 1. 2GB with a share of 11.6% (-0.2) and 3AW with 16.7% (+2.1). Nova 106.9 in Brisbane was the top rating station with 11.6% (-0.2) whilst Nova 93.7 in Perth was No 1 with 18.1% (+1.1). Mix 102.3 in Adelaide returns to No 1 with 12.6% (+0.7). After a radio career spanning 53 years, 47 years in senior management, Al Kirton has announced his retirement from Coastal Broadcasters Pty Ltd, the operators of 4KZ, 4AM, KOOL FM, KIK FM & 4AY. In his career, Al has been on the Board of Directors of various companies of nine Radio stations.
Triple M on the Gold Coast was officially renamed to 92.5 Triple M Gold on December 1.
Neil Mitchell finished up as 3AW Mornings host on December 1. He has occupied the 8.30am to midday timeslot on the Melbourne talkback station since 1990. He had a final message to his listeners and everyone who has been involved in his career. “It is genuinely a privilege,” he said.
