In what could be a survey first, three Brisbane stations rated at No 1 (* people 10+). They were 4KQ, 97.3FM (both ARN stations) and Nova 106.9 all with a share of 10.2%. In our 30 years of publishing this has never occurred with three stations as co-winners! The other top rating metro stations in the GfK Survey 5 were: 2GB in Sydney (15.2%), 3AW in Melbourne (15.1%), Mix 102.3 in Adelaide (13.9%) and Mix 94.5 in Perth (13.4%). Quarterly podcast digital audio advertising spend is up 19.2% compared to the same period last year, according to the September IAB Australia’s Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER), prepared by PwC.
Melbourne radio station RSN 927 has announced: “It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Father Gerard Dowling. He’s been a cornerstone of broadcasting in Melbourne for 50 years and has been heard on racing radio all that time. Father Dowling started hosting the Family Counsellor program on 3UZ in 1973.” Dowling turned 91 in 2023.
Spencer Howson, 4BC Brisbane weekend presenter, has announced he will be leaving the talk station at the end of this year. Spencer relaunched local weekends on 4BC at the start of 2021 and for the last 3 years and has been heard from 9am each Saturday and Sunday.
