Vale John Brennan (1931-2021)

Sydney radio legend John Brennan has died aged 89. ‘Brenno’ was Program Director at 2UE for many years, then moved to 2GB when the station signed up Alan Jones. He helped introduce talk radio in Australia and created stars such as Mike Walsh, Mike Gibson, Alan Jones, Ray Hadley and others. He took three stations to No 1 in the Sydney ratings. In his later years he was a consultant at 2UE. At age 80, he retired after 62 years in the industry. He leaves behind his wife Jenny, his sons Peter (who also went into radio) and Rick Brennan. His daughter Jan-Mary passed away 6 years ago.
