Vale Rob Jackson

Ian Wright reports in Facebook's 'Radio Green Room':

I'm really sorry to pass on the news of the death overnight of former announcer and journalist/newsreader, Rob Jackson. Rob joined the 2EC Bega - Batemans Bay team in 1985 as our Journalist. He had a wicked sense of humour, was a good bloke and an excellent journalist. Rob also played a big part in our annual Camp Quality Radiothon, benefiting kids with cancer and their families. He came to 2EC after 11 years with 2WG Wagga, as did our Batemans Bay announcer, Ian Duff. I've spoken this morning to one of his daughters 'Kerrie' who would like to let the industry know of her dad's passing, after a spell in hospital. I know fellow colleagues like Ian 'Lofty' Fulton, Tim Carroll and Pete Diskon, will be very saddened at the passing of Rob 'Jacko' Jackson. Janne & Geoff Hardy also from the 2EC gang of the era caught up with Rob after 25 years in 2015 and had kept in contact up until his death. I understand Rob was 70. Rest In Peace mate.
