LIMITED – BOARD CHANGES
The
directors of Pacific Star Network Limited (“Pacific Star”) are pleased
to announce the appointment of Mr. Gary
Pert as a director effective 1 July 2008.
Gary
Pert’s appointment will fill the vacancy created upon the retirement of
Mr. George Buschman as a director effective 30 June 2008.
Gary
possesses extensive media industry experience, gained whilst serving
various senior executive roles including the Managing Director of the
Channel Nine Network and the General Manager of Austereo Melbourne.
After
a successful AFL football career which includes 233 games with Fitzroy and
Collingwood, Gary took up a role within the AFL as the promotions and
development officer between 1989 and 1994, following which he became a
sales executive in the Melbourne office of the Austereo radio network
During
his 12 years with Austereo, Gary held various senior management roles
culminating in 2006 when he held the joint role of General Manager of
Austereo Melbourne and Austereo’s National Sales Director.
As
Managing Director of Channel Nine Melbourne, Gary held principal
responsibility for one of Australia’s largest media organisation’s
with more than 450 staff. After one of the most profitable periods in
Channel Nine’s history, Gary was recruited as Chief Executive Officer of
the Collingwood Football Club, one of Australia’s largest sporting
brands.
Commenting on his appointment to the board of Pacific Star Gary
said:

Mr. George Buschman’s Pacific Star relationship commenced during
2005, as a consultant before joining the Board in early 2007. Initially
George assisted Pacific Star in building the business plan to acquire the
SEN brand and with the recruitment of suitable senior radio management
personnel. In parallel with this George has over the past few years
created a new business, Boost Media, which has enjoyed great early
success. It is the increasing scale and time commitments of this new
venture that has brought about George’s desire to resign as a director.
