Sydney ’s 103.2 ‘Stays Strong’ after record Appeal result

Christian Radio Station Sydney ’s 103.2 raised $562,285 during their recent June Appeal, a record result in the station’s 29 year history.

As a not-for-profit community radio station, Sydney ’s 103.2 relies predominately on listener donations, and to some extent on-air sponsorship, to cover the organisation’s day-to-day running costs. However, due to the economy, the station has experienced a particularly tough year due to a very sharp drop in sponsorship advertising.

As a result, the theme of this year’s June Appeal was “Help Sydney’s 103.2 Stay Strong”.

CEO Phillip Randall commented, “Sydney’s 103.2 has always aimed to be a radio station that cares about the community we serve… and that community of listeners have once again shown us how much they want this community service to continue.”

“Throughout the appeal, our listeners shared on a very personal level about how much they are helped each day through our positive music, lifestyle segments, and telephone counselling service.”

More than 220,000* adult Sydneysiders and their families tune into Sydney’s 103.2 each week, a listening audience that has been on the increase over the past 7 years and one that is clearly reflected in this latest successful fundraising result.
